Use of Student Photos


Photographs of Mars Area students may be taken periodically throughout the school year for use in District publications including, but not limited to, the District’s annual Activities & Information Calendar; electronic newsletters; and in publications made available via the District’s website

Photos/images may also be used on the District’s website itself, posted via the District’s social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube), and may be submitted for use by newspapers and other local media outlets. Students’ may or may not be identified by name.

The District also provides opportunities for reporters or photographers to interview and/or photograph students. A staff member is always present. Any parent/guardian, who prefers that their child not be interviewed or photographed for publicity purposes, is asked to notify the student’s building principal in writing by Sept. 30 of the corresponding school year.
