Planet Preschool
Mars Area School District's Planet Preschool is offered from November through May for children ages 3-5. The program is offered from 8:40 to 11:22 a.m., Tuesday through Friday, during a five-day school week (Note: Hours of operation may be modified during state exams, midterms, finals, and other events happening within the high school.) Cost is $200 per year.
Planet Preschool is held in conjunction with Mars Area High School's Child Develop-
ment I and Child Development II curriculum. High school students manage the program and are responsible for planning and implementing lesson plans. Activities often incorporate team-building and leadership skills. The program offers high school students a unique opportunity to work with and be around younger children, which helps the students to decide if they would like to pursue a career in a related field.
