Notification System
Mars Area School District’s notification system, offers personalized messages to keep parents, students and faculty informed about school closings/delays, school activities, important dates, parents or student events, and more.
This unique communication tool may also be used in the event of an emergency. A message describing the event or providing specific instructions can be created and sent within minutes of its occurrence.
Note: Phone calls from the District will display on Caller ID devices as coming from the District’s main phone number (724) 625-1518. Calls from individual school buildings will list that school’s main phone number. The “from” address in all e-mail messages from the District/schools will end in “@marsk12.org.”
This dynamic tool is intended to enhance Mars Area School District's current modes of communication. This system is a positive reinforcement of our commitment to remain personally connected to parents through direct telephone/e-mail contact, general school announcements, inclement weather school closings, and critical or emergency school announcements.
It has been proven that parental knowledge plays a key role in student achievement. We thank you for being involved in your child’s education and for allowing us the means to raise the standard of excellence in our schools.
Contact Information
To update the District records and provide this communication tool most effectively, Mars Area School District asks that parents review and verify all contact information that is listed in the Skyward Family Access portal. Parents may log in to Skyward via the “Student Information System” link on the District’s website, www.marsk12.org (or directly at https://skyward.iscorp.com/scripts/wsisa.dll/WService=wsedumarsareapa/seplog01.w) using the login information provided by the District.
Each parent may list up to three (3) and one (1) e-mail address. All parents have access to update contact information in Skyward any time a change is required.
(Note: The notification system will not call phone numbers with extensions, therefore any work numbers provided must be a direct line. Also, telemarketer call-blocking devices may prevent you from receiving calls from the District. Please provide at least one unblocked phone number so that the District may reach you in the event of an emergency.)
