Mars Area Middle School’s Community Service Committee and FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club collected $2,000 to benefit the Tree of Life Synagogue.

As part of a fundraiser, held Nov. 5-Dec. 21, the student groups sold black and gold “#PittsburghStrong” and “Stronger Than Hate” bracelets for $2 during all lunch periods. Students who purchased a bracelet had an opportunity to write their name and a message of kindness on a paper leaf that was added to a tree on display at the school.
