Mars Area School District is listed among the Top 500 School Districts in America, according to a 2018 ranking by the National Council for Home Safety & Security. 

The District placed 252 in the listing, which was based on data collected about student performance (mathematics and reading test scores, dropout rates, school funding and poverty rates from 9,577 school districts across the nation.
