MAES Students Explain Why the Fightin' Planets is the Best

On April 29, all Mars Area Elementary School students (Grades 2-4) were invited to complete a Fightin' Planets coloring page and to finish the sentence, "The Fightin’ Planets is the best mascot because..."

The coloring pages were judged later that day and, based on their responses, several students were asked to participate in a video explaining why the Fightin' Planets should be voted the Best High School Mascot in America.

Students are fourth-graders Brooklynn Burkovich, Ava Franck, K.J Hager, Landon Kelley, Isabel McEwen, Romy Shaffer and Emmett Sondej; third-graders Charlotte Haas and Nolan Singh; and, second-graders Ella Dugger, Ella Niklewicz and Emily O'Malley.

Our mascot is currently vying against the Boiling Springs Bubblers (Pa.) in the Championship Final of the National High School Mascot Bracket. Voting continues through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 4.
