He began his coaching career as a tight end coach for the PennWest Clarion University Golden Eagles Football Team, for which he had played quarterback, served as team captain, and was named a team MV during his college years. Benedek began his college career as a quarterback for the Saint Francis University Red Flash Football Team.

Benedek also previously served as an assistant football coach at Elizabeth Forward High School. A 2019 Elizabeth Forward graduate, Benedek played quarterback for the Warriors Football Team and served as team captain for three years.

He holds a master’s degree in secondary mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in communications (digital media) from PennWest University. Benedek is currently a long-term substitute mathematics teacher at Quaker Valley High School.
