Madison Davis, Mars Area Primary Center first grade teacher, was featured as part of the KDKA Talk Pittsburgh Teach Me Tuesday segment, which aired on Oct. 14.

Teach Me Tuesday, hosted by Heather Abraham, Kelly Dzanaj and Mikey Hood, highlights teachers in the Pittsburgh area who go above and beyond both in and outside of the classroom. Davis was nominated for the honor for her commitment to her students and her ability to make learning fun.

“Teaching first grade is truly such a magical year. (The students) come in as these curious, eager, little learners, some just knowing a few letter sounds, and by the end of the year they are reading books, writing stories, solving math problems,” said Davis, who joined Mars Area School District in 2019. “It is such a transformative part of their educational career and I am so honored to be a part of it.”

“Creating a positive learning environment starts with getting to know each child… their interests and their strengths,” said Davis. “I just want them to feel safe, valued and cared for. I want them to know that I am on their team and rooting for them always.”
