Beginning with the 2024-2025 School Year, Mars Area School District is contracting Day-to-Day Substitute Teachers through ESS, which is responsible for employing substitute teachers and filling all teacher absences.

Openings are currently available for Substitute Teachers, Substitute Paraprofessionals, Substitute Secretaries and other essential school support roles. The daily pay rate for a Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher is $115. After 30 days worked in the current school year, the rate increases to $125 per day. Retired Mars Area School District teachers working as a Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher start at $125 per day.
