Mars Area School Board is soliciting for community members interested in filling an upcoming vacancy on the Board.

Effective Tuesday, Jan. 9, Board member Nicole Thurner is resigning her post as she is moving out of Mars Area School District. The selected individual would complete the remainder of Thurner’s term, which expires in December 2025.

Any community members, who may be interested in filling the seat, are asked to submit a Letter of Interest to masdboard@marsk12.org by no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20.

The Board will hold a Special Meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, to conduct interviews of those who have submitted a letter of interest. The meeting will be open to the public.
