On July 10, Mars Area School Board approved an increase in the starting pay rates for various support staff positions within Mars Area School District.

Effective July 1, 2023, starting pay rates are $17 for secretaries and Level I paraprofessionals; $19 for nurse paraprofessionals and Level II paraprofessionals; $15.50 for custodians; $22 for Level I maintenance; and $24 for Level II maintenance workers. Single health benefits continue to be offered for all support staff position.

The increase is the starting pay rates is reflected in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Mars Area School District and Mars Area Education Support Professionals (July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2025), which the Board approved at a June 27 special meeting.
