Several members of Mars Area High School German Club competed in the annual Three Rivers German Day, held April 9 at Washington & Jefferson College.
Club members took third place in the MUSIK competition; and, senior Sydney Denk earned first place for her painting, “Nena (99 Luftballons),” in the Painting category.
Other participants included seniors Sara Biaggini, Eden Brennan, Lauren Chadwick, Bella Childress, Olivia Dickson, Thomas Dressen, Alexa Everhart, Maddie George, Amanda Lape, Gracie McCarty, Arora Montgomery, Katie Mueller, Matt Mueller, Mikayla Ostermann, Taylor Orosz, Anya Peck, Nico Salvini, Chad Santoro and Makenna Steiner; juniors Alejandra Bardullas Portilla, Gavin Best, Reese Connelly, Chester Harsch, Natalie Janusz, Emlyn Kasperowicz, Mia Mirabile, Olivia Nuttall, Marin Raible and Kate Southwell; and, sophomores Abigail Brownley, Natalie Hagen, Emma Lamping, Lexi Lefcakis, Tyler Painter, Brady Randall and Max Rings.
The annual event challenges the linguistic, artistic, and performance-based skills of around 400 students from middle and high schools in Western PA & West Virginia in competitions.
