Mars Area School District’s Office of Special Education is seeking parents/guardians interested in serving on the District’s Gifted Education Parent Advisory Committee.
The purpose of the committee is to inform parents/guardians about gifted education issues; provide trainings for parents/guardians; improve communication between administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, service providers and community agencies; identify and address potential systemic issues that may impact the delivery of gifted education and special education services; and, to maintain and improve the delivery of best and evidence-based education practices and programs throughout the District.
Each member of the selected Parent Advisory Committee will be responsible for attending quarterly meetings; organizing trainings for parents; providing input to the School District; and, advocating for ALL students within Mars Area School District.
