Mars Planet Foundation will hold a virtual “Walk Around Mars” fundraiser, Sunday, April 16, through Saturday, May 6.

The goal of the fundraiser is to collectively achieve enough miles (13,263) to make one lap around the surface of the Planet Mars. To achieve that task, participants are each asked to log a total of 26.5 miles throughout the six-week event.

Fee is $25 per person. To register, visit https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/WalkAroundMars or text “WalkAroundMars” to 71777. (Note: Once registered, participants can text “MarsTrack” to 71777 to track their miles.) The registration deadline is Wednesday, March 15.

Participants may choose to become a fund raiser, join a team, or simply donate to the cause. Mars Planet Foundation will use the event proceeds to provide for teacher grants to enhance learning opportunities for Mars Area School District students and scholarships for students continuing their education beyond high school.
