Mars Area School District places a great importance on school safety. In addition to the use of metal detectors and security cameras as well as the implementation of a school police force, the District also provides school safety training for our staff and students each school year. Our District maintains a close working relationship with our local police and other first responders and we truly appreciate their role in keeping our students and staff safe. 

Based upon recent incidents, we are in the process of meeting with our local responders, state level security consultants, and internal safety and security personnel to review and make any necessary changes to current protocols in order to maximize our security efforts for students, staff and community members. 

Once again, we would like to thank our internal and external security personnel for their quick and diligent response to the incident that recently occurred on our high school campus.
