District Recognizes Winners of 2021-2022 Poster Contest

In celebration of National School Bus Safety Week (Oct. 17-21), Mars Area School District honored the winners of the District’s 2021-2022 School Bus Safety Poster Contest at a special luncheon on Oct. 19.

First through third place winners were first-grader Luke Dye, second-grader Elliana Lucchini and second-grader Harley Kmoch in Division 1 (K-2); fourth-grader Emma Eriksen, sixth-grader Rhythm Srivastava and fifth-grader Zanetos Argeras in Division 2 (3-5); and, seventh-grader Alexis Riner, seventh-grader Reese Polito and seventh-grader Mahin Ugle in Division 3 (6-8).

In addition, first-grader Luke Dye, whose entry, along with those of the other first place winners, was submitted to the 2021-2022 PennDOT School Bus Safety Poster Contest, received third place in Division 1 at the state level.

At the luncheon, each winner was presented with a school bus coin bank and a framed picture of his/her poster contest entry. The contest asked students to design and submit a poster on this year’s contest theme, “1 Bus + 1 Driver = a BIG Impact on Education!”
