Mars Athletic Complex Rules & Regulations

Mars Area School District is excited to welcome students, families and community members to Mars Athletic Complex this Friday night to cheer on the Fightin’ Planets Football Team as they take on the Aliqiuppa Quips at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12.

YOUTH NIGHT — The Fightin’ Planets will host a Youth Night on Friday, Sept. 12, at Mars Athletic Complex. Given that more than the usual number of students and other youths will be in the stadium on Friday, we would like to remind parents/guardians that all children, ages 12 and under, are to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children are not to be left unattended at any time. Any child, who is found to be unsupervised, will be asked to contact his/her parent/guardian and may be asked to leave the stadium.

“SALUTE TO SERVICE NIGHT” — Mars Area High School will hold a “Salute to Service Night" at the football game. Former and/or active members of the military and first responders (with valid identification) will receive free admission and will be recognized between the first and second quarters. Adams Area Fire District will fly the America Flag over the stadium and members of Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC will present the Colors.

TICKET SALES — Tickets for all home football games are $3 for students and $7 for adults and will be sold at these prices both online and at the gate. Tickets may be purchased online at https://admin.eservicestech.com/p/MarsFightinPlanets/events. (Note: Any individuals, who purchase electronic tickets, are reminded to either save a copy of the ticket image to your mobile device or to print the tickets, as the District cannot guarantee wifi access at Mars Athletic Complex.) Ticket-takers will be ensuring that all tickets are being used appropriately.

SHUTTLE BUSES / OFF-SITE PARKING — As parking at Mars Athletic Complex may be limited due to ongoing construction on either side of Three Degree Road directly adjacent to Mars Area Middle School, the District will offer off-site parking and shuttle buses at Mars Area Primary Center (main entrance) and Mars Area Elementary School (east entrance). The shuttle buses will run continuously from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. to and from Mars Athletic Complex. 

STADIUM PARKING — Game attendees are asked to only park in designated parking spaces and to use the provided shuttle buses. Please refrain from parking on berms, in the grass, on sidewalks, or in any other unmarked locations. Parking is available at Mars Area Middle School, the Varsity Baseball Field Parking Lot, Davidson Road Parking Lot, Meredith Drive Parking Area, and Doc’s Way/LEFCON Field Parking Areas. Driving or parking or in any marked construction zone is strictly prohibited at all times. (For a detailed parking map, visit https://www.marsk12.org/apps/news/article/2106372.) Vehicles that are parked illegally may be towed at the owner’s expense. 

CONSTRUCTION ZONE (NO PARKING) — The construction zone along Three Degree Road near its intersection with Route 228 is off limits to parking. Driving or parking or in any marked construction zone is strictly prohibited at all times.

“NO GO” ZONES — During football games, no individuals are permitted in the pole vault runway area in the northwest corner of Mars Athletic Complex. In addition, no Mars Area students are permitted in or around the Visitor Bleachers. The District has cordoned off these areas, where District Police Officers will also be patrolling. 

STRICTLY PROHIBITED — Please be reminded that alcohol, other controlled substances, and tobacco products (including e-cigarettes/vape pens) are strictly prohibited on school property (including in all parking areas) at any time.

Please be reminded that, during all home football games at Mars Athletic Complex, Mars Area School District police officers are on duty. Additional security personnel as well as building administrators and District safety personnel are also present.

In order to ensure the safety and security of all players, students, staff and spectators at Mars Athletic Complex; we ask that you please note the following:

  • All person entering Mars Athletic Complex must have a valid ticket.
  • Only small purses (4.5” x 6.5”), diaper bags, and medical bags are permitted. Spectators, officials and event staff are asked to avoid bringing any bags, when possible.
  • All personal items are subject to search.
  • Children, ages 12 and under, must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children are not to be left unattended at any time. Any child, who is found to be unsupervised, will be asked to contact his/her parent/guardian and may be asked to leave the stadium.
  • No spectator is permitted to enter the field and/or track area at any time.
  • Spectators must be fully clothed at all times.
  • Signs are permitted, but must be handheld, event-related, in good taste, and cannot obstruct another spectator’s view. The District’s administration reserves the right to confiscate any sign.
  • No tents or umbrellas are permitted in the bleachers.
  • There is no “re-entry” for anyone who leaves the stadium.

The following are PROHIBITED at Mars Athletic Complex:

  • Alcohol and Other Controlled Substances
  • Tobacco Products (including e-cigarettes/vape pens) — Tobacco products are not permitted on school property, including all parking areas, at any time.
  • Weapons
  • Backpacks
  • Outside Food and/or Beverages — Spectators may not bring in any outside food and drinks, coolers, ice chests, picnic baskets and/or glass containers. (Concession stands are available.)
  • Artificial Noisemakers — Artificial noisemakers may include whistles, horns, air horns, electric megaphones, etc. Note: Cowbells and shakers are permitted.
  • Laser Pointers
  • Frisbees, Beach Balls, and Other Sporting Equipment
  • Pets and Other Animals — Only registered service animals and/or service animals in training are permitted.
  • Gambling — Gambling and Small Games of Chance are only permitted if an organization, group or individual has a valid small games of chance license, issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

ANY PERSON FOUND TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THE ABOVE
GUIDELINES WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE VENUE WITHOUT REFUND.
