Mars Area Primary Center will hold its annual Read Across America Week celebration of reading and literacy, Monday, Feb. 25, through Friday, March 1:
  • Monday, Feb. 25 — “Sleep Book” Day — Students may wear pajamas to school.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 26 — “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” Day — Students may wear their favorite color or number. Students will join in “Laughter & Literacy Day” activities to learn about different authors and illustrators.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 27 — “Wacky Wednesday” — Students may wear their shirts backwards. Guest presenter: Brian Richards, magician and storyteller.
  • Thursday, Feb. 28 — “Fox in Sox” Day — Students may wear crazy socks to school. All students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday, March 1 — “Be a Storybook Character Today” Day — Students dress up as their favorite children’s book character.
