Mars Area Centennial School, Mars Area Elementary School and Mars Area Primary Center will celebrate Read Across America Week, Feb. 23-27, with the following theme days:
- Monday, Feb. 23 — “Surf’s up for Reading Day” — wear Hawaiian or beach apparel
- Tuesday, Feb. 24 — “Reading ‘Jogs’ the Mind Day” — wear exercise clothes
- Wednesday, Feb. 25 — “Read Your Shirt Day” — wear a shirt with letters or words. (Primary Center — Students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library throughout the school day.)
- Thursday, Feb. 26 — “Reading Gives You Superpowers Day” — wear superhero shirts or outfits. (Primary Center — Students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library throughout the school day.)
- Friday, Feb. 27 — “Be a Storybook Character Day” — dress up as a storybook character. (Primary Center — Brian Richards, magician, will perform.)
