Mars Area School District will hold its 2026 Homecoming Celebration, Monday, Oct. 5, through Saturday, Oct. 10.
This year’s theme is “Rio After Dark.” The District’s schools will hold the following Spirit Week theme days:
- Monday, Oct. 5 —
- Secondary (7-12) — “Lie’d Back” — Comfy clothes
- Elementary (K-6) — “PJ Day” — Pajamas
- Tuesday, Oct. 6 —
- Secondary (7-12) — “Twin Tuesday” — Dress alike
- Elementary (K-6) — “Jersey Day” — Sports jerseys
- Wednesday, Oct. 7 —
- Secondary (7-12) — “Splash of Color” — Grade 12 (Blue), Grade 11 (Pink), Grade 10, Red, Grade 9 (Yellow), Grade 8 (Red); Grade 7 (Black)
- Elementary (K-6) — “#bethekindkid Day” — #bethekindkid apparel
- Thursday, Oct. 8 — “Tropical Thursday” — Flip flops, sunglass and (school-appropriate) beach wear
- Friday, Oct. 9 — “Mars Day” — Blue and gold colors
The 2026 Homecoming Parade will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, in Downtown Mars, followed by the Fightin’ Planets Homecoming Football Game against the Blackhawk Cougars at 7 p.m. at Mars Athletic Complex. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at halftime.
The week will conclude with Mars Area High School’s 2026 Homecoming Dance, to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Mars Area Middle School. The Homecoming King will be crowned during the dance.
Dance tickets are $20 per student and may be purchased, Monday, Sept. 28, through Friday, Oct. 9, at the Student Council booth at Mars Area High School. A completed Homecoming Ticket Order Form (available online at https://highschool.marsk12.org/) and payment is due at the time of ticket purchase. Checks may be made payable to “Mars High Activity Fund.”
