Mars Area High School Student Council is sponsoring a Holiday Cheer Competition, Monday, Dec. 15, through Thursday, Dec. 18.
As part of the competition, students can earn points for their homeroom by participating in various activities, including the following theme days:
- Monday, Dec. 15 — “Silver Bells” — wear a “groutfit” (grey outfit)
- Tuesday, Dec. 16 — “Battle of Santa and His Helpers” —
- seniors/juniors wear red; sophomores/freshmen wear green
- Wednesday, Dec. 17 — “Holiday Socks & Slippers”
- Thursday, Dec. 18 — “Twas the Night Before Christmas” — wear holiday pajamas
Other activities will include a Food Drive to benefit local families in need through Inspired Hearts & Hands. Donations of canned goods and other non-perishable items will be collected in students’ homerooms.
In addition, students will be challenged to a Homeroom Door Decorating Contest. Judging will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 17, and a winner will be selected for each grade level.
