Mars Area Primary Center, Mars Area Elementary School and Mars Area Centennial School will celebrate Read Across America Week, Feb. 27-March 3, with the following theme days:
- Monday, Feb. 27 — “Surfs Up for Reading” Day — Students may wear a Hawaiian shirt. (Primary Center — Students will attend an “ “Adventures in Reading” performance at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.)
- Tuesday, Feb. 28 — “Be a Storybook Character” Day — Students may dress up as their favorite storybook character.
- Wednesday, March 1 — “Read Your Shirt” Day — Students may wear a shirt with letters or words. (Primary Center — Students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
- Thursday, March 2 — “Reading Gives You Superpowers” Day — Students may dress as their favorite superhero. (Primary Center — Students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
- Friday, March 3 — “Reading JOGS the Mind” Day — Students may wear exercise clothes to school.
