Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Golf Team will compete in the final round of the 2022 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Team Championship at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Cedarbrook Golf Course (Belle Vernon).

The Fightin’ Planets took second place with an overall score of 401 in the WPIAL Team Semifinals on Oct. 11. Participating golfers include senior Blake Bertolo who earned a score of 72, sophomore James Kinghorn (80), freshman Lukas Singh (80), sophomore Will Campbell (83), senior Ryan Steigerwald (86) and sophomore Colin Stevenson (94).

In the final round, the team will take on the Central Catholic Vikings, Moon Area Tigers, Peters Township Mighty Indians, Plum Mustangs and the Upper St. Clair Panthers. The Planets ended the 2022 regular season with an overall record of 12-3 and 8-2 in section, earning the Section 3-3A Title.
