Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team will take on the Bishop Shanahan Eagles in the semifinals of the 2021 PIAA Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championships at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at Cumberland Valley High School (Mechanicsburg, Pa.).

The Fightin’ Planets topped the Trinity Hillers 14-9 in the PIAA quarterfinals on June 5; and, tackled the Hershey Trojans 12-0 in the first round of the PIAA playoffs on June 1. The team defeated the Chartiers Valley Colts 18-4 in the final game of the 2021 WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championship on May 27, earning the team’s fifth consecutive WPIAL title and a spot in the state playoffs.

The team routed the South Fayette Lions 20-6 in the WPIAL semifinals on May 24; and, tamed the Franklin Regional Panthers 29-3 in the WPIAL quarterfinals on May 19. The Planets ended the regular season with an overall record of 16-0 and 8-0 in section play, earning the 2021 Section 2-2A title.
