Mars Area Primary Center will offer Pre-Kindergarten Assessments for the 2020-2021 School Year on Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16.
The program is open to students who are registered for the 2020-2021 Kindergarten Program at Mars Area Primary Center and their parents.
Parents/guardians who signed up their children for an assessment on the originally scheduled Pre-Kindergarten Assessment dates (April 16-17) will be automatically rescheduled for the upcoming assessment dates.
Those parents/guardians with a previously scheduled appointment on Thursday, April 16, will be rescheduled for Wednesday, July 15; and, those that had appointments scheduled on Friday, April 17, will be rescheduled on Thursday, July 16. All originally scheduled appointment times will remain the same.
All assessments will be held in Mars Area Primary Center cafeteria and gymnasium. Parents may check in their students at the school’s cafeteria entrance; then, will be asked to return to their vehicles until the assessment is complete.
Upon entering the building all students must have their temperature checked. As recommended by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), no one with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be permitted to enter the building. In addition, all District staff members who will be conducting the assessments will wear masks and full face shield. And, social distancing will be maintained at all times.
All assessments are by appointment only. Assessments determine a student’s fundamental skills such as letter and number identification, writing, etc., and will inform parents and teachers as to the student’s readiness to attend kindergarten.
