Mars Area Primary Center will hold its annual Read Across America Week celebration of reading and literacy, Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 6:
- Monday, March 2 — “Sleep Book” Day — Students may wear pajamas to school.
- Tuesday, March 3 — “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” Day — Students may wear their favorite color or number. Students will join in “Laughter & Literacy Day” activities to learn about different authors and illustrators.
- Wednesday, March 4 — “Wacky Wednesday” — Students may wear their shirts backwards. Chritine Petrell Kallevig, origami storyteller, will perform.
- Thursday, March 5 — “Fox in Sox” Day — Students may wear crazy socks to school. All students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Friday, March 6 — “Be a Storybook Character Today” Day — Students may dress up as their favorite children’s book character.
