Mars Area Elementary School will offer a #bethekindkid Community Night from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 19.

Participants will join in community service projects to benefit various local charities, including Butler Meals on Wheels, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, The Lighthouse Foundation and St. John Community as well as homeless shelters and veterans’ organizations.

In addition, principals, teachers and school police officers will volunteer to receive a pie in the face for a nominal donation. All proceeds will benefit Adams Area Fire District and Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company.
