Mars Area School District will join in the fight against breast cancer as part of its annual “Hats for Heroes” fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 23, to benefit Susan G. Komen Greater Pennsylvania.

As part of the event, students (Grades K-12) will be asked to make a donation in return for the opportunity to wear a hat in school on Friday, Oct. 23. Checks may be made payable to “Susan G. Komen.”

This year, donations will also be accepted online at http://pittsburgh.info-komen.org/site/TR?px=25862770&pg=personal&fr_id=8360&et=J_gNKoG2XxK471mEaGlq1g. (Note: In 2019, the schools raised a combined $6,798.64 for the cause.)

In addition, all students and staff will be encouraged to wear pink as part of a District-wide “Pink Out” on Friday, Oct. 23, to raise awareness for the cause. For more information, call (724) 625-3145.
