Third-graders in Jessica Semler and Sarah Sondej’s classes at Mars Area Elementary School will hold a school-wide Food Drive, Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24.

The food drive is being offered as part of the students’ social studies lesson on the importance of volunteers and volunteering. Throughout the project, the students will give speeches about the drive, create posters, collect non-perishable food donations, and graph the results.

Donations may be dropped off at the school’s main office, Monday through Friday, during school hours. On Friday, May 24, volunteers will transport all collected food items to The Lighthouse Foundation in Middlesex Township.
