Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Baseball Team will take on the Shaler Area Titans in the semifinals of the 2019 WPIAL Class 5A Boys Varsity Baseball Championship at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at Pullman Park (Butler, Pa.).

The Fightin’ Planets defeated the West Allegheny Indians 4-3 in the WPIAL Quarterfinals on May 21; and shut out the Fox Chapel Foxes 5-0 in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs on May 16. The team ended the regular season with an overall record of 10-8 and 5-5 in Section 2-5A play.
