Mars Borough Council has declared that Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, will be “Mars Girls Soccer State Championship Day” in Mars.

To kick off the borough’s Light Up Night celebration on Saturday, Dec. 7, Mayor Gregg Hartung will present members of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team with a Community Recognition Award for excellence and outstanding achievement. This season, the Lady Planets won both the 2019 PIAA and WPIAL Class 3A Championship titles.

The award presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. near the Mars Spaceship and will be followed by a variety of other Light Up Night activities. For a schedule of events, visit http://marsborough.com.
