Third- and second-graders in Jessica Semler and Sarah Sondej’s classes, respectively, at Mars Area Elementary School will hold a school-wide Food Drive, Monday, May 14, through Friday, May 18.

The food drive is being offered as part of the students’ social studies lesson on the importance of volunteers and volunteering. Throughout the project, the students will give speeches about the drive, create posters, collect non-perishable food donations, and graph the results.

Donations may be dropped off at the school’s main office, Monday through Friday, during school hours. On Friday, May 18, volunteers will transport all collected food items to The Lighthouse Foundation in Middlesex Township.
