Mars Area High School students will present the musical, Willy Wonka, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16, and at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, in the auditorium.
The show, based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl, follows the enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka (Braeden Rawa), who stages a contest to win a free tour of his chocolate factory. Among the five winners are four insufferable children and the likeable Charlie Bucket (McKenzie Hutchison), all of whom who tour the factory and must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules or suffer the consequences.
Tickets are $10 per person. (Note: Tickets will be for reserved seating for each evening performance and for general seating only for the matinee.) Advance ticket sales will be held Feb. 17-March 12 in the high school’s main office. After that date, tickets will only be available for purchase at the door prior to each performance. (A portion of the proceeds benefits Mars Planet Foundation.)
