Mars Area Primary Center will hold its annual Read Across America Week celebration of reading and literacy, Feb. 26-March 2:
- Monday, Feb. 26 — “Sleep Book” Day — Students may wear pajamas to school.
- Tuesday, Feb. 27 — “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” Day — Students may wear their favorite color or number. Students will join in “Laughter & Literacy Day” activities to learn about different authors and illustrators.
- Wednesday, Feb. 28 — “Wacky Wednesday” — Students may wear their shirts backwards. Frank Capelli, magician and former host of the children’s program, “Capelli & Company” (http://cappelliandcompany.com/), will perform at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Thursday, March 1 — “Fox in Sox” Day — Students may wear crazy socks to school. All students will join in field trips to Mars Area Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Friday, March 2 — “Be a Storybook Character Today” Day — Students dress up as their favorite children’s book character.
