Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team will take on the Uniontown Red Raiders in the first round of the 2017-2018 WPIAL Class 5A Girls Basketball Championship at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, at Gateway High School (Monroeville, Pa.).

The Lady Planets ended the 2017-2018 regular season with an overall record of 17-5 and 11-1 in section play, tying with Hampton for the Section 4-5A title. In 2016-2017, the team took sixth place in the WPIAL Class 5A playoffs and advanced to the second round of the PIAA Class Championship.

Tickets for all WPIAL playoff games are $7 for adults and $5 for students and are available for purchase from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mars Area High School’s Athletic Office. (Note: No student tickets will be sold at the gate.)
