Bank, Foundation Officials Tour STEAM Room

On March 12, representative of NexTier Bank and Mars Planet Foundation visited Mars Area Centennial School to see first-hand the fruits of several past donations that have benefitted Mars Area School District’s STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics) and other programs.

Clem Rosenberger, NexTier Bank President & CEO, and Carol Achezinski, NexTier Bank Senior Vice President of Treasury Management, along with Mars Planet Foundation board members Beth Ziegler (President), Doug Wolf (Vice President) and Amy Riggio (Treasurer), toured the school’s STEAM Room and met with students to see how new and innovative technologies have enhanced their learning.

The monies, which were awarded through the foundation’s Teaching Enrichment Grant program, were used to purchase 3D Printers, Finch Robots, mini-golf turf, and more for various projects at Mars Area Centennial School. Additionally, funding was used to purchase robotics programming software and gaming chairs for Mars Area High School as well as to offset the costs of a high school field trip to study marine biology in Virginia.
