Each school year, Mars Area School District strives to assist, identify and coordinate for special needs (non-special education) students. Program supervision includes:
  • Protected Handicapped Students;
  • General Screening;
  • Supervising Health Services;
  • Working with Juvenile and Treatment Programs;
  • Supervising the Student Assistance Program (SAP) and In-House Therapy Program.
The District also identifies and provides services for:
  • Homeless Students
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) Students
And, the District also ensures compliance for:
  • Home Education Students

Related Services
 
Mars Area School District provides counseling, nursing, and psychological services to assess and support students, and student assistance programs are active at all school levels.
 
Speech and language, occupational, physical, vision, and hearing therapies, as well as assistive devices are provided to eligible students. Special needs students are transported to programs inside and outside the District.
