Mars Area Elementary PTO is seeking parents of District students in grades K-4 interested in becoming a Contact Parent for their child’s classroom during the 2017-2018 School Year.

Contact parents help to plan classroom parties; secure volunteers for various school events; and act as a liaison between the PTO and classroom parents for grades K-4. (Note: Contact Parents are no longer selected for Grades 5-6, as the PTO Building Chair at Mars Area Centennial School coordinates the school’s three grade-level parties.)

Interested parents may send an e-mail to [email protected] by no later than 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10. The e-mail message should include the parent’s name and phone number; student’s name, teacher and grade level (if Kindergarten, specify AM or PM); whether the parent has previously served as a Contact Parent; and, if he/she would like to be Head Contact Parent. (Note: Parents of multiple District students must submit a separate request for each student/class for which they are applying to be a Contact Parent.)

Selected Contact Parents will be notified by the PTO via e-mail on the evening on Monday, Sept. 11. A non-mandatory, informational meeting for all Contact Parents will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, at Mars Area Centennial School. Parents must have completed the District’s requirements for Assistive Volunteers including a driver’s license scan in order to attend the meeting.
