MASD Help Desk

The MASD Technology Help Desk, for students in need of technical support with District-issued devices, is available Monday through Friday (when school is in session) at the following school buildings: 

  • Mars Area High School — 7:30 to 9 a.m., during all lunch periods, 2 to 3 p.m.
  • Mars Area Middle School —  7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Note: Any changes to Help Desk hours will be posted. No technical assistance, other than power-related issues, will be offered for personal devices.

Device Repairs/Replacement


Mars Area School District will provide cases for the protection of Chromebooks and iPads. The District recommends that the parent(s)/students purchase a case or cover for Microsoft Surface devices.


District-Issued Devices


Mars Area School District will repair any damaged District-issued devices on a weekly basis. The student will be without a District-issued device during the repair period. (The cost to replace a stylus pen and/or keyboard will be determined by the actual retail price of comparable replacement items.) 


Maintenance Fee

Hardware Warranty Damage:

Parents/Students shall be held financially responsible for damage or loss of the Device.

      • Lost or Stolen laptop ($250.00)
      • Replacement carry cases ($15.00)
      • Power bricks ($55.00)
Incidents of damages must be reported to the Middle School's main office on the day that the damage occurs. Students should be prepared to  provide the following information when reporting damage:
      1. Date of incident
      2. Complete details of incident

Theft:

Thefts must be immediately reported to the school principal or his/her designee. The District will work with the police department to report all model, asset, and serial numbers of stolen or lost laptops.

Parent Liability:

The parent/guardian, or adult student will be responsible for compensating the school district for any losses, costs or damages, in accordance with District policy.
