Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Mars Area School District remain CLOSED, in compliance with Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf's order to close all K-12 Pennsylvania schools indefinitely amid growing concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

 

Our District will continue to utilize Online Continuity of Instruction (OCI) throughout the school closure; and, all administrators, teachers and staff members will continue working from home.

 

Please note that the District WILL hold its Spring Break, in accordance with the approved 2019-2020 School Calendar, which calls for Vacation Days on Friday, April 10, and Monday, April 13, in observation of Good Friday and Easter weekend. There will be no online instruction for students on these dates. 

 

Mars Area School District will continue to follow guidance from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), and the U.S. Department of Education. (Updated guidance is available on the PDE website at www.education.pa.gov/Schools/safeschools/emergencyplanning/COVID-19/Pages/AnswersToFAQs.aspx.) Our schools will not reopen until such time that it is deemed safe to do so.

BUILDINGS FACILITIES, FIELDS & GROUNDS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC 
 
All Mars Area School District buildings, facilities, fields and grounds (including all playgrounds) remain CLOSED to the public for any use until further notice, in accordance with Gov. Tom Wolf's order to close all K-12 Pennsylvania schools amid growing concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). Signage is posted at the entrance to each building and facility regarding the closure. Police will be patrolling these areas. Thank you for you cooperation.
