Fourth-graders at Mars Area School District will join in a Pi Day activity from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14.
Pre-service teacher (preK-4) candidates in Butler County Community College’s Math for Teacher Education II class will lead fourth-graders through various stations focused on discovering pi (3.14159265359...) and how the constant relates to art, mathematics, writing and more.
Stations will include “Jobs that Use Pi Memory,” “Pi Art,” “Pi Bracelets,” “Pi City,” “Pi Investigations,” “Pi Paper Chain & Pi Toss,” “Pi Puzzles,” “Pi Reflections,” “Pi Uno,” “Piku & Word Challenge” and “Roll the Dice to Pi.” All participating students will receive a Pi Day token, created by the BC3 Fab Lab.
