Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Tennis Team will take on the Central Valley Warriors in the Third Place Consolation Match of the 2022 WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Team Tennis Championships at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at Sewickley Academy.

While the Fightin’ Planets were defeated 4-1 by the North Catholic Trojans in the WPIAL semifinals on May 9; the team will have the opportunity to compete for third place and a spot in the 2022 PIAA Class 2A Boys Varsity Team Tennis Championships. The Planets vanquished the Valley Vikings 3-2 in the WPIAL quarterfinals on May 4 and tamed the Carlynton Cougars 5-0 in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs on May 2.

The team ended the 2022 regular season with an overall record of 13-1 and went undefeated (8-0) in Section 2-2A. For more information, visit www.wpial.org.
