Mars Area High School Student Council will hold a Holiday Cheer Competition, Monday, Dec. 12, through Friday, Dec. 16.
As part of the competition, students will be asked to participate in various activities and theme days:
- Monday, Dec. 12 — “Holiday Pajamas Day”
- Tuesday, Dec. 13 — “Red & Green Day” — Seniors/sophomores may wear red, and juniors/freshmen may wear green.
- Wednesday, Dec. 14 — “Flannel Day”
- Thursday, Dec. 15 — “Winter Wonderland Day” — Students may wear blue and white colors.
- Friday, Dec. 16 — “Ugly Holiday Sweaters/Socks” Day
In addition, the school will sponsor a Food Drive to benefit Inspired Hearts & Hands. Canned and other non-perishable food items will be collected in each homeroom.
And, Student Council will hold a Homeroom Door Decorating Contest. Judging will occur on Monday, Dec. 19, and a winning homeroom for each grade level will be named on Tuesday, Dec. 20. The winning homerooms will be awarded a donut breakfast.
Students will receive points for participation in each activity and the overall Holiday Cheer Competition winner will receive gift certificates to the Rocket Fuel Café.
