Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School will offer an Open House/Program Showcase from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18. 

The event, open to current and prospective students as well as interested parents, will offer an overview of the votech's 15 different programs — Air Conditioning/Heating/Electrical (HVAC), Automotive Technology, Building Construction, Carpentry, Collision Repair, Cosmetology, Computer Networking & Security, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Graphic Design, Health Assistant, Heavy Equipment Repair, Machine Technology, Protective Services, Sports Medicine, and Welding — all of which offer multiple certifications and articulation agreements with various colleges. All programs are designed to prepare students to enter jobs in technical, skilled, and semi-skilled occupations after high school graduation.

At Mars Area High School, students may attend the vo-tech for one, two, or three years in one of the school’s programs of study. The school has more than 850 students in Grades 9-12 enrolled from all Butler County school districts.
