Fourth-graders at Mars Area Elementary School will participate in an annual Egg Drop Contest at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5.

As part of a science unit completed earlier this year, the students were asked to use the Engineering by Design process to create contraptions that could protect an egg dropped from increasing heights. The students had to stay within a specific “budget” when designing and building their devices.

On Wednesday, June 5, the fourth-graders’ designs will be put to the test as their contraptions are dropped from the extended ladder of an Adams Area Fire District fire truck. For more information, call (724) 625-3161.
