Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team will take on the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils in the quarterfinals of the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Team Championships at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, at Mt. Lebanon Senior High School.
Note: This event was originally scheduled on Oct. 15, but was postponed because of inclement weather.
The Lady Planets defeated the Fox Chapel Foxes 4-1 in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs on Oct. 10. In singles competition, senior Amelia Haley and sophomores Isabella Gaydosh and Emily Ivory won their sets; and, senior Madelene Lussier and junior Emma Nelson won their set in the doubles competition. Other participants were senior Lauren Lussier and freshman Lauren Miko.
The team ended the regular season with an overall record of 9-2 and 6-2 in Section 2-3A. For more information, visit www.wpial.org.
